I like to see a legends board. This could include several categories, like a list of the race winners and series winners; most miles sailed; who has been ranked #1; most races finished. Similar idea to the badges but with more detail.

Longest % of time aground.
Fastest time excluding time aground. There were seveal more suggestions made in the past including syenum'd analysis. If it breaks, it's not strong enough! |

(now shows: page not found) Sorry my fingers got fuddled!! One analysis I looked at was his "national" raking. I don't know the real story about 3 or 4 years ago, however it seemed that the SoL gods did not want to link to his analysis. I know we swapped emails and I suggested some fun prizes as well, At that time all the kiwi boats were racing for a real bottle of Mt Gay and we even had the Royal Akarana Yacht Club's Around White Island Race present a bottle of rum at their official prizegiving. If it breaks, it's not strong enough! |

Fastest time excluding time aground.
Fastest time for what? Aaron: Fastest time for sailing the course so I could see that if I had NOT gone aground, I could of been in 47th place instead of my 254th position. If only I could be more dedicated!! LOL!! It would be an encouragement to do a bit better. CONCENTRATE CONCENTRATE CONCENTRATE are the 3 important requirements when racing IMHO. If it breaks, it's not strong enough! |

OK - just it seemed we were talking about a 'Legends Page' - 'Hall of Fame' whatever - so I didn't think you were referring to including individual races there...
But, time ashore is not recorded... Why don't people just try harder not to hit the hard stuff? All it really takes is very little sleep for the duration of the race and possible divorce proceedings... Totally worth it 
(Easy for me to say, I'm a Bachelor) But seriously - many suggestions require changes to the underlying data model kept on the SOL server. That is one of the hardest things to do just at the moment. So we need to try to work within the data SOL currently does collect (for the time being) I help develop the client interface for the best online ocean racing sim there is... __/)/)_/)__ |

I would still like to see a LOG of my sailing filled in for every hour + times of steering changes + when aground, when refloated.
Ideally being able to download it so that when I do wake up or get back to my PC, then if desired I could download by clicking on a "button". Perhaps a choice of TXT, CSV and M$ Excel for formats. Contents. All this data is currently shown on screen: Lat, Long, Position in fleet, DTG plus data as shown on screen: Speed, Course, TWA, TWD, TWS, VMG, PERF, UTC, Comments (aground, Abeam Cape Horn etc if appropriate) Ideally UTC in first column in format: yyyy-mmm-dd hh:mm --- Last Edited by NZL_PaulR at 2012-04-18 10:59:06 --- If it breaks, it's not strong enough! |

We invite you to another race, which will kick off the third quarter of our ARCH series. We'll set off from Marstrand, Sweden, which, along with Skagen, Denmark, marks the line commonly recognised as the border separating the Baltic Sea from the North Sea. The 650nm route will take our Ripitide 50 across the North Sea and the English Channel to Cowes, England. Watch out for the fast ferries crossing the Channel from Calais to Dover 😊.

Welcome to Nantucket, from whence Herman Melville’s Cap’n Ahab sailed round The Horn into the northern Pacific Ocean to hunt the gray whale - whose migrations are celebrated elsewhere in SOL’s Q4 schedule - he never to return. And whaling too, as the 19th C progressed, like Ahab disappeared from Nantucket as the harbour silted up and mainland Massachusetts whaling stations benefited from rail connections. But beach life, yachting and nostalgia has rescued the island from oblivion, so to celebrate leisure, SOL gives you the Nantucket Sprint - 25nm in 29er_XX’s from east of Tuckernuck Island across the sound to a finish just inside the mouth of the harbour. Aland Sea TIMED Race
Norrtalje Segelsallskap, 70km NE of Stockholm was founded in 1920, and time was when the society’s season opened with a challenging offshore race from the club line off Flaten island at the mouth of the long and narrow Norrtaljeviken, out onto a triangular course around the Aland Sea, to finish at Simpnas slightly to the north on Bjorko island - some 78nm in total. A fine race that SOL, being from these parts, ran annually up until 2013. Last run in autumn 2018, we return here to race the course again in the form a TIMED RUN in spanking new Club Swan 50s.
