	Gilles: You may not worry about the status of other boats, but I often wonder how well my SOTP v69 is doing. It does not alter my bad sailing, but can give one some sense of achievement when overtaking other boats, especially if they are using routing software and multiple skippers. Perhaps this happens more for those of us who are in the middle of the fleet, rather than the top 50 boats on the leaderboard. If it breaks, it's not strong enough!

	@Andrea: Thanks for your reply, and I hope you didnt think I was one turning this into something regarding teams, and ITA, as the issue has always been the UC/Exmero event to me, and this is all based on interpretation of boatsitting as to whether it is fair or not. I would still like someone who was part of creating the rules to state what the initial intention was for allowing boatsit (other than 'we cant stop it') - how was it originally envisioned to be used. Pretty much exactly what Rod said in his most recent post here. At first I was reluctant toward the idea of allowing team boats, which has since changed with further consideration, but I always repsected you guys for being open and honest about what your plans were, and never had problem with ITA_2011 (or prev). @Gilles: I have been doing Santa Monica SOTP also, only with a little help from tools to compute vmc etc, which I still consider SOTP as I can do all the same with a calculator - it just takes longer Made a few costly mistakes so far - 1 in sailing and 1 in routing, while you seem to have made none! WD indeed so far - hope you are still there at the finish! and Im a little closer... This thread certainly has changed direction a few times though...! I help develop the client interface for the best online ocean racing sim there is... __/)/)_/)__

	Hello all this is my first post in the forum. I always wondered how some boats made perfect DC's every time and never missed a buoy. I feel a real accomplishment if I finish in the top 75 so it doesn't really affect me but is discouraging to know that the boats that have course corrections made by buddies are the top sailers in every race. I would do much better at this game if 18 of 24 hours in my day were not taken up with sleep and work. I love this game and compete in about every race. I check my boat breakfast, lunch, and all evening but my worst enemy has been weather change and beachings. It is a distinct advantage to have more than one player watching a boat particularly with this being a truly global community of SOL'ers. 	you know what? to do well, rounding mark...cap... or simply safety (avoid BBQ) a buddy is really helpfull... but: The few races I won, I steer my boat by my own, just happen that the critical points were right timed with my breakfast, lunch time spare...and sometime to be lucky and be in the "odd" position and WX update push you forward. Bottom line: enjoy and hold fast!

	Realism----are we trying for "realism"? IRL---just imagine a boat in which the crew (and Capt.) say--"I'm tired---let's get another crew to take over for a while."---or---"I've got a business appointment that I just can't miss--send out a new skipper from shore to take over for me." Sounds ridiculous? Sounds like "games" rather than yacht racing? Well, it does to me---I hope it does to you, too. 	Just who is SOL---in this incarnation??? My "well known" objection to the rules as they stand is that they are ambiguous---who knows what they mean? I object to the very idea that while I sleep the sleep of the 'rule-obeying', someone else beats me out BECAUSE they are not obeying the "One person-one boat rule".If this is NOT a 'real' rule, then say so!!! I realize that 90% of SOLers never say anything in chat or in the forum---is it because they don't think they can be heard??? or do they no longer care???? If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.

	The boats which are managed by teams should get their own symbol in the boat list. In my opinion it's not totally unrealistic with a multi user crewed boat as it would be similar to shift going aboard a real boat. A real crew would not blindly sail aground because the skipper overslept. Since SOL boats are crewed only when the skipper is online, the rest of the time it's his parrot at the helm so I think we should allow multi user boats if they are shown clearly in the list. /chksix

	Hi sailors! To clarify the situation created, in the Round Gotland Race 2011, by my decision to put the boat at twa:0, was only to avoid controversy about boatsitting. Not to create it! About boatsitting apart from the rule and whether it is more or less ambiguous, I have my own rules. My opinion, is that we are competing in SOL and I do not want to compete, taking advantage over others. From my point of view outside the rule of SOL is to be on the race course with two ships at a time is playing with an advantage over others. I understand that is very different, come on time in the ship a partner that has collided on the coast, for example, or perform any duty, representing a percentage of time boatsitting very small compared to the total duration of the race . To the contrary make a high percentage of the race. The competitive advantages that represent either case are obvious. As I said earlier, the reason for my decision, has been to avoid controversy, since in this particular case the percentage was of virtually the entire race. In short just fairplay to the whole SOL community! I love SOL and all the nice friends I've made here! I want to especially thanks to WINSTON, for his interest in clarify this situation.
